Asus has launched its all-new ZenFone 8 Flip smartphone in the global market. The handset will sport top-of-the-line Snapdragon 888 chip. The phone will carry forward the flip camera design from last year’s ZenFone 7 and ZenFone 6. As it’s a flip camera, there will be no front-firing camera and there is also a high screen-to-body ratio.
The Asus ZenFone 8 Flip will come with a bigger AMOLED E4 panel of 6.67” and it will offer 90Hz refresh rate. Like the ZenFone 8, it will also come with an in-display fingerprint scanner, HDR10+, and the screen will get its protection by the all-new Gorilla Glass Victus.
The chipset powering ZenFone 8 Flip is Snapdragon 888 coupled with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The smartphone’s top-spec variant will come with 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The battery capacity on the Flip is higher as well, it’s 5,000 mAh and will also support 30W fast charging.
The optical setup on the ZenFone 8 Flip is a triple-sensor module that acts as both, rear and front cameras. The primary sensor is a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 paired with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide Sony IMX363 sensor and an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom.
The Asus ZenFone 8 flip will come with IP68 ratings making it dust and water-resistant. The device will boot on the latest version of ZenUI based on Android 11 operating system.
Some other connectivity features are dual-SIM 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, BT 5.2, dual GPS, dedicated microSD slot, dual amplifiers, NFC, type-C USB, and DIRAC HD sound. The smartphone comes with an aluminum chassis for better durability.
In terms of pricing, the Asus ZenFone 8 Flip will come in 8/256GB combination and is priced at €799 (roughly ₹71,000). The smartphone will be available in Glacier Silver and Galactic Black color options.
