Vivo has been launched the Y72 5G smartphone in India. This is Vivo’s first Y-series device to feature 5G capabilities. The handset is a rebadged version of the Vivo Y52s (t1 version), which launched in May 2021 in China.
Vivo Y72 5G comes with a 6.58-inch IPS LCD display with a teardrop notch that provides FHD+ resolution, 90.6 percent screen to body ratio, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a 90Hz refresh rate. In terms of dimensions, the device measures 164.15 x 75.35 x 8.4mm and weighs 188 grams.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 480 chipset and has 8 GB of RAM. It has 4 GB of virtual RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. On the software front, the handset ships with Android 11-based FunTouch OS 11.
As for the cameras, the Vivo’s Y72 5G has an 8-megapixel front camera with an aperture of f/1.8 for selfies and video calls. It features a 48-megapixel primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 2-megapixel bokeh camera, and an LED flash on the rear shell.
In terms of connectivity, the Vivo Y72 5G offers dual SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, USB-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. As for the colour options, The device is offered in Prism Magic (blue) and Slate Grey colors.
In terms of pricing and availability, Vivo has launched the Y72 5G in India with a price of Rs 20,990 (US$282). It is available for purchase on the Vivo India official website. HDFC, ICICI, and Kotak bank account holders can avail of flat Rs 1,500 cashback on Vivo Y72 5G.
