MONSTA X’s Shownu made thousands of Monbebe hit the follow button on his brand new solo Instagram account upon its launch on January 12! The MONSTA X leader surprised fans by welcoming them to his newly-opened official Instagram account @shownuayo, which has one of the world’s cutest profile photos.
His first post was a mirror selca of him casually standing in the middle of their practice room, with his vacant arm wide open as if welcoming fans into his account. “Let’s meet often~,” he wrote on the post’s caption.
Kihyun immediately showed his groupmate’s love for their fans by commenting on the post. “The studio wasn’t that clean, I’m sure… I think you cleaned it up to show Monbebe,” the singer playfully wrote.
Shownu’s first Instagram post was able to surpass 87,000 likes four hours after it was uploaded. Meanwhile, he was able to collect over 101,000 followers already in the span of four hours. He then shared a video of him dancing alone to “Nobody Else”, a track from their latest album FATAL LOVE.
Shownu’s Instagram account launch comes after his groupmates Minhyuk. I.M, and Kihyun opening their own accounts in 2020. In the same year, MONSTA X was able to win their first daesang courtesy of the 2020 Asia Artist Awards.
Last January 9, the group collected their first award—a Best Group recognition—for the year via the 35th Golden Disc Awards. This marks a great start for their activities this 2021, and fans are definitely looking forward to more.
