Rugged smartphone maker, Blackview has quietly announced the BV8800 rugged device in the US market. The handset comes with a dust and water resistant body, a 90Hz display, a MediaTek Helio P25 processor, a 50MP quad rear camera setup, a MediaTek Helio P25 processor, and an 8,380mAh battery with support for fast-charging.

The Blackview BV8800 bears a 6.58-inch water-drop notch display with a Full-HD+ resolution. It is an IPS panel with a 90Hz high refresh rate. The screen has an 18:9 aspect ratio of 85% screen-to-body ratio. Since it is a rugged smartphone, it has MIL-STD-810H certification. It also has IP68 and IP69K certifications. 

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Blackview BV8800 has a quad-camera system with a 50MP Samsung JN1 sensor, an unknown ultra-wide lens, a 2MP depth-sensing lens, and lastly a 20MP night-vision camera. Upfront, it has a 16MP selfie sensor. The smartphone also has a LED flashlight. The handset runs on Android 11 OS operating system with Doke OS 3.0.

Under the hood, the Blackview BV8800 is powered by the MediaTek Helio P25 octa-core SoC paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 onboard storage. For graphics, the smartphone has a Mali-G57 GPU and it shows up in its AnTuTu score of 301167 points.  It is 17.7mm in thickness. In terms of connectivity, the device offers support for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Type-C port for charging.

The Blackview BV8800 packed a large 8380mAh battery, and this unit gets 33W fast charger. Due to the large battery, the device has a whooping 17.7 mm body, weighing a feel-able 365 grams in weight. The rugged smartphone also comes with 3D copper pipe liquid cooling technology offering less heat while gaming.

As for the official pricing and availability, the Blackview BV8800 is priced at $300 for the sole 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The smartphone is comes in Mecha Yellow, Navy Green and Conquest Black. But, it can be purchased on AliExpress with a $20 limited coupon discount. The device will be on sale from January 10 on the portal.
