Motorola has launched the world’s first smartphone equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor: called the Moto Edge X30. The handset has been launched in China. The device features first, the handset flaunts a 6.7-inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB internal storage.

The Motorola Moto Edge X30 comes with a 6.7-inch OLED display that has Full HD+ resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, up to 700 nits brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The screen also features a punch-hole cutout at the centre to accommodate the selfie camera. 

The Motorola Moto Edge X30 features a triple-camera setup. It has a 50MP main camera with an F1.88 aperture and OIS. Then there’s a 50MP ultrawide camera with 114° field-of-view. There is a 2MP depth sensor with an F2.4 aperture that helps in capturing portrait images. The front of the smartphone has a 60MP camera with an F2.2 aperture and 4K video recording. The device boots Android 12 OS out of the box with MYUI 3.0.

The other specifications of the Motorola Moto Edge X30 include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, an IP52 rating for dust and water splash resistance, 5G (SA/NSA), dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, a USB Type-C port, NFC, and a 5,000mAh battery. The smartphone supports 68W TurboPower fast charging.

The Motorola Moto Edge X30 variant with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at CNY 3,199 (around ₹37,922). The 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant costs CNY 3,399 (around ₹40,306). The top-end variant of the smartphone with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at CNY 3,599 (around ₹42,678). The device will go on sale in China starting December 15, 2021.
