Motorola Edge Plus (2022) was launched in the US on Thursday (February 24). The smartphone has almost the same specifications as the Motorola Edge 30 Pro that was launched in India on the same day as the successor to Motorola Edge 20 Pro from 2021. As for the key highlights, the handset comes with a 6.70-inch touchscreen display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, a triple camera setup, 5G connectivity, and a 4800mAh non-removable battery.
The Motorola Edge Plus (2022) comes with a 6.70-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080x2400 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor that features 1 core clocked at 3GHz, 3 cores clocked at 2.5GHz and 4 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. It comes with 8GB of RAM. At the heart, the handset runs Android 12 and is powered by a 4800mAh non-removable battery. The device supports wireless charging, as well as proprietary fast charging.
The Motorola Edge Plus (2022) on the rear packs a triple camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a pixel size of 2.0-micron; a 50-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a pixel size of 0.64-micron, and a 2-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture and a pixel size of 1.75-micron. The rear camera setup has phase detection autofocus. On the front software, the Motorola Edge Plus (2022) runs MyUX is based on Android 12 OS out of the box and packs 512GB of inbuilt storage. The smartphone is a single SIM (GSM) mobile that accepts a Nano-SIM card. In terms of dimensions, the handset measures 163.06 x 75.95 x 8.79mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 196.00 grams. It was launched in Cosmos Blue and Stardust White colours.
Connectivity options on the Motorola Edge Plus (2022) include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, GPS, Bluetooth v5.20, NFC, USB Type-C, 3G, 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks) , and 5G. Sensors on the smartphone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor. Motorola hasn't revealed an exact date for the Motorola Edge Plus' launch, but when it happens, the phone will be available through Amazon and Best Buy as well as Motorola's own website.
