South Korean actor, Koo Kyo-hwan will be starring in a new film titled “New Humanity War: Resurrection Man”. Based on a webtoon titled “Resurrection Man,” “New Humanity War: Resurrection Man” is an action blockbuster about the events that unfold after longtime job seeker Seok Hwan discovers that he has the ability to resurrect three days after his death.
The film will capture the webtoon’s charms and unique concept while expanding upon the preexisting story. “New Humanity War: Resurrection Man” will be helmed by director Baek Jong Yeol of “Beauty Inside” and will highlight powerful action scenes while delivering catharsis to viewers.
The k-drama actor, Koo Kyo-hwan, who previously captivated audiences with his charisma in “Peninsula,” “Escape from Mogadishu,” and “D.P.,” will be starring as the leading role of Seok Hwan. Living an ordinary life while looking for a job, Seok Hwan dies but revives three days later, allowing him to realize his secret ability. With his skilled acting, Koo Kyo-hwan will portray Seok Hwan’s dramatic new life.
Currently, the actor is also set to star in the films “Escape” and “Gil Bok Soon” as well as the upcoming TVING drama “Monstrous.” “New Humanity War: Resurrection Man” will be produced by Yong Film of “Call,” “Believer,” “Luck Key,” and “My Mister.” With this upcoming film as foundation, the production company will continue to produce projects as part of the “New Humanity War” series with new hero characters.
The series will follow the stories of those who were born through a secret research study, and it will depict the war of heroes fighting against those who threaten humanity’s survival. Yong Film is working with Lotte Entertainment to produce the first project of the series, and after casting the leads, filming will begin in 2023.
