Xiaomi's selfie-camera-focused and China-exclusive handset series Civi has received a new model. The Xiaomi Civi 1S smartphone has been made official as a slightly improved version of the Civi from last year 2021. The new offering comes with a better processor and new software experience as part of the upgrades.
The Xiaomi Civi 1S bears a 6.55-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) OLED curved display with a centered punch-hole. The panel supports up to 120Hz refresh rate, up to 240Hz touch sampling rate, 950nits of peak brightness, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and DCI-P3 color gamut support. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ processor with Adreno 642L GPU.
The triple camera setup on the back includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.79 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The smartphone has a 32-megapixel front camera for taking selfies and attending video calls. The device has three configuration variants: 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage.
On the front software, the Xiaomi Civi 1S will boot MIUI 13 based on Android 12 OS out of the box. The whole package is powered by a 4,500mAh battery and supports 55W fast charging. Other noteworthy features on the smartphone include dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, and WiFi 6 but there is no 3.5mm headphone jack.
For pricing and availability, Xiaomi has priced the Civi 1S at CNY 2,299 (about $355) for the 8GB/128GB base model. The other two configuration variants 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB will cost you CNY 2,599 (about $405) and CNY 2,899 (about $450) respectively. The color options are Black, White, Pink, and Blue with pre-orders already live in China.
