Gionee has announced a new smartphone called the Gionee P50 Pro. As mentioned in the title of this post, the handset sports a big notch similar to iPhones and a camera module that resembles the Huawei P50 Pro. While it tries to look like a high-end device, it offers users entry-level specifications.
The Gionee P50 Pro has a 6.517-inch LCD panel that offers a Full HD+ resolution. The wide notch on the device houses a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The company claims that it offers a screen-to-body ratio of 93 percent. The Unisoc T310 chipset is at the helm of the device. It offers 4 GB / 6GB of RAM and 64 GB / 128 GB of storage.
In terms of camera department, there are two round-shaped camera modules on the backside of the Gionee P50 Pro smartphone, which suggests that it could be equipped with multiple rear-facing cameras. However, the handset is equipped with a single rear camera of 13-megapixel.
The Gionee P50 Pro is equipped with a 3,900mAh battery, but there is no word on its fast-charging capabilities. For security, it features a side-facing fingerprint scanner and supports face unlock. It is now available for purchase through JD.com in colors like Bright Black, Dark Blue, and Crystal.
The Gionee P50 Pro has arrived in three variants, such as 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage, 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. These variants are priced at 659 Yuan (~$98), 739 Yuan (~$110), and 759 Yuan (~$113), respectively. It appears that the company may not have any plans to release it in markets outside China.
