The newest revenge Kdrama "Again My Life," which stars Lee Joon Gi, will be putting off its production because of the actor. While the SBS series has been off to a good start since it made a debut on April 8, the network confirmed postponement after the 40-year-old star was diagnosed with COVID-19. According to Osen, the filming was cancelled after Lee Joon Gi tested positive for the virus.
However, SBS assured viewers that there would be no disruptions to the broadcast. In addition, the broadcast network shared that the actor is currently in self-quarantine as mandated by the guidelines of the quarantine authorities. On the other hand, Lee Joon Gi's agency, Namoo Actors, released a statement confirming the star's health condition. As noted by Star News, the agency shared that the "Flower Evil" star "had symptoms of poor condition" after filming his K-drama "Again My Life."
Due to this, the actor underwent a self-test kit and rapid antigen test and has "received a positive result." Namoo Actors then gave fans an update regarding the 40-year-old star's condition, saying that as of the moment, he "does not have any symptoms besides a mild sore throat." While he is in self-isolation, the talent label shared that "all of his planned activities have been canceled," adding that they prioritize the actor's "health and safety" and "will do everything" to help him recover immediately.
The weekend K-drama is the actor's return to the small screen after headlining the hit thriller romance series "Flower of Evil." He played the dual role of Baek Hee Sung and Do Hyun Soo together with Moon Chae Won, Jang Hee Jin, and Seo Hyun Woo. For his K-drama comeback, viewers get to see the actor's transformation as a determined prosecutor in the revenge series "Again My Life." Playing the role of Kim Hee Woo, he was brutally murdered while investigating a corrupt politician.
However, the feisty prosecutor unexpectedly returns as he gets a second chance at life. Joining Lee Joon Ki in the mystery K-drama is Kim Ji Eun as the youngest daughter of Cheonha Group's CEO, Kim Hee Ah, while veteran actor Lee Kyung Young acts as her father, Cho Tae Seob. Concluding the main character is the "Hanging On" star Jung Sang Hoon who took on the role of Lee Min Soo. In his previous interview ahead of the "Again in My Life" premiere, Lee Joon Gi revealed what made him accept the role.
As noted by Osen, the actor was drawn toward the exciting storyline, especially with Kim hee Woo's personality, adding, "I think he is a character I met by fate at this point in time." Lee Joon Gi's new drama "Again My Life" airs every Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m. KST. Despite the cancellation of the series, episode 5 is scheduled to broadcast on April 22 via SBS and ViuTV.
