Oppo has launched a mid-range smartphone in China – called Oppo A97 5G with two different color options. As for the key highlights, the new A-series smartphone comes with an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset and a 48MP dual-rear camera setup. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and has a 6.66-inch 90Hz display. There’s no information on when the device will be available for international markets.
The Oppo A97 5G has a 6.66-inch full-HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 1080 x 2408 pixels resolution. The display also has an AI-powered smart eye protection feature. The front penal has a dew-drop notch and the back side comes with a rectangular island for two cameras. In terms of dimensions, the smartphone measures 176 x 76 x 8.1mm and weighs around 194 grams.
Oppo has provided an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC on the Oppo A97 5G , clubbed with 12GB of RAM. Additionally, the RAM can be expanded up to 19GB using the inbuilt storage. For storage, the smartphone brings 256GB of internal storage. Around the back, the handset is offering a dual-camera setup on the back that includes a 48MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor.
The Oppo A97 5G comes with a 12MP sensor for selfies and video calls. The Chinese tech company incorporates a 5,000mAh battery on the smartphone that supports 33W flash charging technology. The connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and Bluetooth. There’s a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port. The device features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and also supports a face unlock feature.
For official pricing and availability, the Oppo A97 5G has arrived with a single 12GB RAM with 256GB internal storage which carries a price tag of CNY 1,999 (approx Rs. 23,600). It will be available in two color options, i.e. Deep Sea Blue, and Quiet Night Black. The device is currently listed on the Chinese e-commerce website JD.com for pre-registration and it will go on sale starting July 15.
