South Korean global group BTS continues to make other major achievements on the global streaming platform Spotify. As is known, Spotify is one of the largest music streaming service providers in the world. By early June 2022, Spotify had attracted more than 433 million monthly active users and 188 million premium subscribers.
Spotify is available in 184 countries, including Indonesia and has more than 82 million songs from various artists and record labels around the world. Reporting from a chart data report on Wednesday August, 10, 2022, BTS is known to have again broken records on Spotify, by becoming the first group to surpass 5 billion streams this year.
BTS managed to achieve this feat in just seven months, or 217 days to be exact. It also makes BTS the fastest group to reach 5 billion streams this year. BTS now joins other major acts like Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, and Drake who have also surpassed more than 5 billion streams on Spotify in 2022 so far.
In addition, BTS' monthly listenership on Spotify has also increased tremendously. Last July, BTS managed to attract 43 million listeners on Spotify. That's not surprising considering BTS' followers on Spotify have now reached 53 million, surpassing Bad Bunny's followers. This makes BTS the first and only group to reach 53 million followers on Spotify.
As additional information, last year BTS also managed to break a record after “Dynamite” surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify. It was the first Korean artist's song to reach 1 billion streams and so far the record has not been broken. Congratulations to BTS on their impressive feat on Spotify!
