There's not even a single dull day in the world of Seventeen! And this time, it is performance unit leader Hoshi who has our whole attention. Surprising fans by dropping an unreleased solo track Tiger on International Tiger Day, we are sure you are equally intrigued.
Unveiling the song through the group's YouTube channel at midnight on July 29 KST, Carats were in for quite a shock. As he likens his strength to that of a tiger in the track, the Seventeen's performance leader voices his unrelenting will to be a majestic presence on stage.
And if there weren't enough tiger references, the track also features Korean-American rapper Tiger JK and was co-composed by the group's main producer and Vocal Unit leader Woozi. As far as the lyrics are concerned, they were penned by Hoshi, Woozi and Tiger Jk collectively. Wondering what the ruckus regarding Tiger is all about, see for yourself:
And the icing on the cake is that the choreography for the special track will also be released through Studio Choom, aka the YouTube channel that specializes in K-pop artists’ dance videos. If you are wondering why a tiger, then the real question is - why not? In fact, Hoshi is widely known in the K-pop scene for being an avid fan of tigers and everything inspired by the ferocious animal.
So much so that his stage name 'Hoshi' is also derived from the Korean term for ‘tiger’s gaze.’ If you weren't already aware, this isn't even his first tryst with a tiger in any way. Back in 2021, Hoshi had then released a solo track Tiger Power, wherein he even introduced himself with the catchphrase ‘horanghae,’ which combines the Korean terms for ‘tiger’ (horangi) and ‘I love you’ (saranghae).
