South Korean boy group, BTS recently announced plans to enlist in the military. Jin became the first member to go on duty. Before serving in the military, Jin will release an official solo single. Titled The Astronaut, the song will be released on October 28, 2022 at 11.00 WIB. Along with the announcement, Jin also released the trailer logo. 

The video, which lasts about 2 minutes, shows the figure of an astronaut in space and drifting towards the moon. The song The Astronaut is said to be a gift from Coldplay for Jin. This news is reinforced by the credit written on the details of the physical album released by BIGHIT Music. A number of big names were written from the credits of the song The Astronaut. 

Among them are Johann Johannsson who is a composer who won a Golden Globe, Kygo, and Chris Martin. Not only that, Chris Martin also invited his son, Moses to 'collaborate' with Jin on the song The Astronaut. Moses Martin was written as backing vocals for the song with Chris Martin. Previously, Jin personally revealed his plans to release a solo single when holding the Yet to Come in Busan Concert with BTS . 

He revealed that he would be releasing a single and collaborating with someone he admires. "I became the second member after J-Hope to release a solo album. This is not a big album or anything, just a single," said Jin. "For this song I worked with someone I really admire, so I will be releasing a new song. 

I've also been filming for various things, and there are still things that haven't been recorded, so I hope you like it," he concluded. Meanwhile, BIGHIT Music recently announced plans for all BTS members to undergo military service. Jin even canceled his request to postpone his military service.
