Produce 101 Season 2 contestant Lee Ji Han has reportedly passed away at a Halloween party in Itaewon. Soompi reported on Sunday October 30, 2022, that Lee Ji Han's agency, 935 Entertainment, had issued a statement, "It is true that Lee Ji Han died in the tragedy in Itaewon." The agency then added, “We also hoped that it wasn't true, and we were very surprised to hear the news.
The family is suffering from great grief right now, so we are very careful. May he rest in peace." News of Lee Ji Han's passing was first made public when several recordings from Produce 101 Season 2 , including Park Hee Seok, Kim Do Hyun, and Cho Jin Hyung, posted the sad news on Instagram. They wrote, “Ji Han has left this world and gone to a comfortable place. We ask that you say goodbye to him on his last resort.
” Lee Ji Han first came into the public spotlight when appearing as a contestant on the Mnet Produce 101 Season 2 program in 2017, but he failed in the first round of elimination. Lee Ji Han finally made his debut as an actor in the web drama “Today Was Another Nam Hyun Day” in 2019. He just turned 24 on August 3, 2022, and his career is looking brilliant. But all of that was taken away due to the tragedy that occurred in Itaewon.
As is known, South Korea is experiencing an emergency situation due to the large number of people who died and were injured during Halloween celebrations in Itaewon. The Korea Disaster Management Headquarters confirmed that the death toll stood at around 154 people, with another 132 injured. 103 of the 154 victims were reportedly in their twenties.
In addition to Korean citizens, there are many foreign tourists who are also victims. According to reports, at least 26 foreign nationals were identified as dead, including 5 from Iran, 4 from China, 4 from Russia, 2 from the United States, and 2 from Japan.
