One Dollar Lawyer episode 6 begins with Ji-hun telling Min-jae that he knows about his little scheme of drawing a man with a black umbrella and asking him what happened that night. Min-jae thinks back to Hee-ju slapping him and then crying, looking at the canvas, and when Ji-hun returns to the office, he tells his colleagues that Chun-gil really died but he died 3 years ago. While Ma-ri and Mu-jang are shocked, Min-hyeok, Ye-jin and their team excavate Chun-gil's body from the coffin and discuss why it all seemed so easy.
Meanwhile, at the office, Ji-hun tells his colleagues the truth behind the family, that Min-jae has always been an artist and he only lied on behalf of his father. Unfortunately, the lie left his father hopeless and bitter, and he ended his life when he couldn't take it anymore. After the tragedy, the family starts using Min Jae as a cash cow. The question now remains, what is Ji-hun's strategy now? Will he continue to represent Min Jae and ask for leniency or just walk away?
That night, while watching UI, everyone is shocked to learn that Min Jae had told reporters the location where he hid the murder weapon as the last definitive proof of his crime. Things seem to fall into place rather comfortably, and Ji-hun is left wondering what's going on. At home the next day, Min-jae is surprised to find the painting and Ji-hun there, who tells everyone what happened on that fateful night, Su-yeon was the one who accidentally killed her mother while trying to tear up her sister's painting and to save her, Min Jae blames himself.
Currently, Min-jae denies Su-yeon had anything to do with it. However, Ji-hun tells him that this is similar to what he did to his father, who couldn't bear the burden of the truth. This time, he pushed his sister down the same path. She asks him if he thinks Su-yeon would be happy if he went to jail in her stead, and the two siblings burst into tears and embraced each other as they wept. Things go well for Min-jae and Su-yeon admits her crimes. Min-jae goes on with his life while Su-yeon is imprisoned.
However, there is still hope for the siblings now that the truth is revealed. After a fairly successful case, a quiet day at the law office. Ji-hun goes to pay respects to someone close while Ma-ri goes out to meet someone. However, before he does that, he finds a photo of Lee Ju-yeong hidden inside one of Ji-hun's closets. He remembers that the woman worked at Baek Law Firm before and thus goes to see Ye-jin for tea. Over dinner, Ye-jin talks about Ji-hun's past.
5 years ago, Ji-hun was involved in a very risky search which he completed by bringing a corrupt chairman on the red carpet. However, all of that was overshadowed by Kim Soo-hyun's guest appearance which left the reporters at the scene as well as everyone watching the show (I'm sure) dumbfounded! However, after getting the attention of his seniors, Ji-hun gets ready to face the chairman's rich lawyer but may not be ready for Ju-yeong.
In court, as such, he is surprised to see your Baek Hyun enter, along with Ju-yeong and the others. Even though Ji-hun doesn't make it in court, he then goes out for coffee with Ji-yeong. While together, Ju-yeong and Ji-hun have a rather sweet conversation about winning the case and the loser buying drinks. It's clear the two are in love, and Ju-yeong tells him she's counting on him to frame him behind bars. Ji-hun promises him that's what he will do. Something tells me it's not going well.
