YG Entertainment surprised BLACKPINK fans by launching a new product, namely 'BLACKPINK The Game '. Quoting from Allkpop on Tuesday April 4, 2023, YG Entertainment has officially announced that it will release a new product that uses the intellectual property (IP) of their artist BLACKPINK, namely by launching the product ' BLACKPINK The Game '.

The product 'BLACKPINK The Game' is planned to be released in the second quarter of this year. YG Entertainment plans to release 'BLACKPINK The Game' in collaboration with TakeOne Company, a content producer. TakeOne Company is a company that launched the mobile game 'BTS World' in 2019 which uses the intellectual property of the BTS group.

'BLACKPINK The Game' is a game where game users become BLACKPINK's producers and help their members develop. Various contents such as member training, office building management simulation, and character decoration will be included in the game. In addition, the game's original soundtrack (OST) and music video sung by BLACKPINK will be released later.

YG concluded by saying, "You will be able to fulfill various aspects of BLACKPINK in a new form that you have never seen before." With the release of this latest game, fans can enjoy a virtual experience to get involved in the creative process and help prepare BLACKPINK members for their success. Meanwhile, previously insiders reported that the four BLACKPINK members were considering renewing their contracts with YG Entertainment.

According to an exclusive report from Star News, the four BLACKPINK members (Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa) are currently looking to renew their contracts with YG Entertainment once their contracts expire in August 2023. Each of the four members is believed to have wanted to maintain their current relationship with YG Entertainment, but no specific reasons were stated.

However, it is believed that the scale and acceptance of the group's current world tour heavily influenced their decision. Currently, BLACKPINK is holding the biggest world tour of any K-Pop girl group by visiting 32 cities worldwide for a total of 57 shows. They will also perform at Coachella in April and the Hyde Park Summer Festival in the UK in July.
