Invited to the Suchwita program, BTS' Jin revealed the reasons why he brought up the disband during the 2018 MAMA speech. Kim Seokjin, the oldest member of BTS, is the next special guest to appear on the Suchwita program which airs on Saturday June 8, 2023.
Suchwita is a talk program hosted by Suga BTS and aired through the BANGTANTV YouTube channel. During the broadcast, Suga questioned Jin's reason for delivering a speech about disbanding during the 2018 MAMA speech. Screenshots during which BTS members gave speeches at the 2018 MAMA were also inserted.
“ I think… I'm going to cry questioning whether or not we receive this award this year. I want to thank our members who have always been with me until now, " said J-Hope during a speech at MAMA 2018. The speech was then continued by Jin, “ It was very difficult for all of us mentally earlier this year. We even talked about whether or not to disband and thought about it a lot.
But we pulled ourselves together and I'm so happy that we received such a great award. ” Jin explained that the atmosphere at that time was one of the toughest moments for BTS. They felt mentally and physically heavy during 'Fake Love' and 'IDOL' promotions. There was a feeling of wanting to let go of everything at that time, said Jin.
“ So I just want to be honest about how we feel. But when our fans hear it I'm sure it can sound negative because it's not an easy thing to talk about, ” said Jin continuing his explanation. Of course, this moment was not only a touching moment for BTS, but also for ARMY (BTS fans). Many fans are grateful that BTS was able to get through it.
BTS hard work paid off at that time, RM, Jin, Yoongi, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook managed to receive 3 Daesang awards–'Artist of the Year', 'Album of the Year', 'Worldwide Icon of the Year' at MAMA 2018 . The song 'IDOL' also won the 'TikTok Best Music Video' and 'Favorite Music Video' awards.
While the song 'Fake Love' won the 'Mwave Global Fans' Choice' award at the 2018 MAMA. Meanwhile, episode 12 of Suchwita was broadcast specifically to welcome the 10th anniversary of BTS. This episode was also released to treat fans' longing for Jin and was recorded 4 days before Jin entered military service.
