ABS-CBN's longest-running noontime show "IT'S Showtime," is moving to GMA Network's GTV Channel as the original "Eat Bulaga" begins airing on TV5. "With the new programming movements in TV5, we are sad to announce that 'It's Showtime' will no longer be seen on TV5 beginning July 1, 2023.
"We are also very grateful to GMA's GTV Channel and happy to announce that 'It's Showtime' has found another home." ABS-CBN's noontime show began its simultaneous TV5 airing in July 2022, back-to-back with TV5's own variety program, "Lunch Out Loud."
However, in April this year, "Lunch Out Loud" went off air and "It's Showtime" returned to the 12 p.m. timeslot, going head to head with GMA's "Eat Bulaga." The recent turn of events however — with Eat Bulaga moving to TV5 and taking up the noontime slot — has changed this setup.
ABS-CBN revealed that TV5 offered to move "It's Showtime" to a later time slot to give way to Eat Bulaga. "We value the meaningful relationship we have built and nurtured with our audience in the noontime slot. It is for this reason that we have respectfully declined the 4:30 pm timeslot offered by TV5 for the show."
In ending, ABS-CBN thanked TV5 Chairman Manny Pangilinan for his support for ABS-CBN and for bringing "It's Showtime" to a wider audience through our content partnership. "It's Showtime" will still be available on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, TFC, and iWantTFC from Monday to Saturday at 12 noon.
