King the Land is a Korean drama rom-com that tells the story of an heir and an employee who work in one of the hotels owned by his family. Directed by Im Hyun-wook, this drama stars Lee Jun-ho, Lim Yoon-a (Yoona), Go Won-hee, Kim Ga-eun, Ahn Se-ha, and Kim Jae-won, among other cast members.
This drama tells the story of heir Goo Won who has been thrown into an inheritance war, and the happy Cheon Sa-rang, whose smile moves him like no other. As the two begin to spend more time together, a beautiful love begins to bloom in their story.
The show will have 16 episodes and will air on jTBC in the Saturday-Sunday 22:30 (KST) slot previously occupied by Doctor Cha. King the Land episode 9 has a duration of 69 minutes. King the Land episode 9 begins with a brief recap of Gu Won and Sa-rang's kiss in the rain followed by the pouring rain and the two sharing a blanket while spending warm moments together.
Meanwhile, Da-eul and his partners try to hit a 30 percent sales mark to win the promised incentive trip. While Da-eul hits the mark at the last minute, Pyung-hwa eagerly looks forward to her promotion after generating the most sales in the team. However, he is shocked when the promotion goes to his juniors instead of himself.
While she longs for promotions at work, things seem different in her relationship with Rowoon. The next day, a happy Gu Won walks into work which surprises Sang-sik and he starts to get suspicious of his boss. Meanwhile, Gu Won can't resist being around Sa-rang and spending time in King the Land while making other employees sit on needles.
They then threw down the task of getting Gu Won to go to Sa-rang who ended up getting rough with Gu Won and making him sulk. Meanwhile, Sa-rang secretly helps her customer-dealing partner and is able to take the first steps in improving her relationships with those around her.
Later, Gu Won discussed his plans for an upcoming event at the hotel with his father, sister, and other people involved. Hwa-ran tries to demonstrate her authority over Gu Won by telling him that this event is a hotel event. Gu Won then turns this around by telling him that if the entire hotel needs to be involved in the event then it should come under his management.
This shocks everyone but the air soon cools down when Sa-rang comes to offer the group some spice when Gu Won turns her down in front of everyone present. He understood what had happened and then met with Gu Won in secret to try to improve his mood. Unfortunately, the scene once again ends in a bad situation as Gu Won is shocked and pushes Sa-rang who was trying to hug him back.
Knowing that he has messed up badly, Gu Won tries to get advice from others but is dissatisfied with everything. The next day, he decides to visit Sa-rang's grandmother but sees her fall as soon as she enters her restaurant. He takes her to the hospital and asks her to stay there until all the tests are done while the old lady asks him about his feelings for Sa-rang.
Gu Won confessed to him only to be immediately flustered when he asked her if he was asking her out. The old woman was angry when Gu Won asked about the importance of putting it all into words. Leaving everything to fate, the old lady then told him the importance of the same and why she needed to ask him out formally.
Suddenly, Sa-rang arrives at the hospital and is saddened by her condition. He tells her to take care of herself while the old lady promises not to leave anytime soon. The duo then head back to grandma's restaurant and Gu Won walks in thinking he won't be leaving until the next day.
The two apologize to each other for their previous behavior and quickly make up while Gu Won pulls up Sa-rang's floor mattress next to him and stays with her through the night. However, this ends with him being beaten up when Sa-rang's grandmother sees the two sleeping next to each other the next morning.
Then, he left the restaurant for Sa-rang and gave Gu Won a tour of the market and introduced him as the number one candidate for Sa-rang. While the others understood that she had chosen Gu Won as her grandson-in-law, they followed the old lady's words and started questioning her about various things.
During this time, Sa-rang's grandmother finds out that Gu Won is homeless and decides to open a housing subscription account for Gu Won. This was to help him buy a future home with Sa-rang and was his tacit approval. Then, she prepared a feast for her future son-in-law before the two left.
Back at home, Gu Won tells Sa-rang about the things that happened and wants to spend more time with her. But just as Sa-rang accepts the idea, her friends come and they all go inside. The two then tell Sa-rang about the incident at their workplace and how they were only mistreated after exhausting all their effort at work.
