South Korean boy band formed by KQ Entertainment, ATEEZ have set a record for 2024 in the United States with their latest release! On June 9, 2024 local time, Billboard announced that 'GOLDEN HOUR: Part.1' had achieved the largest week of sales in the US of any K-pop album this year.
ATEEZ's latest mini album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart as the week's best-selling album, and also debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, which was only beaten by Taylor Swift's 'The Tortured Poets Department'.
According to Luminate 'GOLDEN HOUR: Part.1' earned a total of 131,000 album equivalent units during the week ending June 6, marking the biggest week of any K-pop album in 2024.
The album's total score consists of 127,000 traditional album sales (the most of any K-pop album this year) and 4,000 streaming equivalent album units (SEA), which translates to 6.15 million on-demand audio streams for the week.
'GOLDEN HOUR: Part.1' is ATEEZ's fourth consecutive Top 3 album and their seventh entry overall on the Billboard 200. The group previously entered the top 3 of the chart with 'THE WORLD EP.FIN: WILL' (which debuted on No. 1), 'THE WORLD EP.2: OUTLAW' (No. 2), and 'THE WORLD EP.1 : MOVEMENT' (No. 3).
