The Jujutsu Kaisen manga has been on hiatus for the past few weeks and recently Shueisha announced that the hiatus will be extended even longer. Currently the story is reaching a climax in the Shinjuku Showdown arc, where Yuji Itadori and the last surviving wizards struggle to exert their strength in a fierce battle against Sukuna.

The latest chapter released on June 9, 2024 ended with a big cliffhanger that left fans in suspense. However, they had to wait longer than expected to see the continuation of the story. After chapter 262 of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga was released, an official announcement followed that the series would enter a two-week hiatus due to health problems faced by the manga artist, Gege Akutami.

However, in the latest issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, it was announced that this manga will not return next week as previously scheduled for July 1, 2024. In fact, chapter 263 will be published on July 8, 2024. This decision was taken because Shueisha's editorial department wanted to ensure that Akutami completely recovered before resuming work.

Shueisha's editorial department issued a statement regarding the long delay of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga and confirmed that Akutami was feeling better, but they decided to wait an extra week to give the creator more time to rest. " Jujutsu Kaisen was supposed to be re-published in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine issue 31 (published July 1, 2024), but will return in issue 32 (published July 8, 2024).

Although Akutami sensei's health has improved, after consulting with the editorial staff, we decided that he should continue wrote when completely in perfect health. We appreciate the continued support for Jujutsu Kaisen ," read the official statement quoted from ComicBook.com on Tuesday June 25, 2024.

However, that also means there's plenty of time to catch up on the latest chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen before the manga returns on July 8. You can read the three latest chapters for free on Viz Media's Shonen Jump digital library or Shueisha's MangaPlus platform.
