Actress Kim Seolhyun was recently tapped to star in a new Korean drama entitled ' Show Business '. "Kim Seolhyun is in final negotiations to appear in the new drama 'Show Business'," said a representative from the broadcasting station, as quoted by KBIZoom on Thursday June 13, 2024.
'Show Business' is a drama set in the booming world of show business shortly after the Korean War, and will tell the story of the stars on stage and the people who made them. Although Kim Seolhyun's character is still being kept under wraps, the drama is expected to cast a role based on her experience as a singer, focusing on the story of a singer who performs for an Eighth United States Army unit.
This role was seen as an opportunity to take advantage of Kim Seolhyun's singing background, who is a member of the girl group AOA. Through this drama, Kim Seolhyun aims to further build her acting career which she has been building since 2012. Kim Seolhyun has starred in a number of Korean dramas, such as 'Orange Marmalade', 'Awaken', 'The Killer's Shopping List', 'Summer Strike', and many more.
Meanwhile, 'Show Business' is the latest work from writer Noh Hee Kyung, who is known as a creator of popular dramas. Writer Noh Hee Kyung's famous works include 'Padam Padam', 'That Winter, The Wind Blows', 'It's Alright, This Is Love', 'Dear My Friends', 'Our Blues', and many more.
Meanwhile, director Lee Yoon Jung will lead the production of the drama 'Show Business'. This marks Kim Seolhyun's second collaboration with the director, having previously worked together in the 2022 drama 'Summer Strike', in which Kim Seolhyun played the main role.
Director Lee Yoon Jung is known for popular romantic dramas such as 'Coffee Prince' and 'Cheese in the Trap', thus increasing anticipation for his latest drama. Apart from Kim Seolhyun, famous stars Song Hye Kyo and Gong Yoo are also in discussions to join the cast. This drama is a joint production between Studio Dragon and writer Noh Hee Kyung's agency GTist.
