Korean drama ' Sky Castle ' will be made into a Japanese remake. This was conveyed directly by global creative studio SLL on Tuesday June 11, 2024. Quoting from KBIZoom, the Japanese remake of 'Sky Castle' has completed the casting stage and started the shooting process.
The remake was produced by Japan's leading private broadcasting company TV Asahi and the first episode is scheduled to air next July. This remake is the first collaboration after the MOU signed between SLL and TV Asahi on May 17, 2024 for mutual cooperation in the content business.
“We are pleased to announce this significant collaboration following our partnership with TV Asahi. "Starting with the remake of the drama 'Sky Castle', we will continue to plan, develop and produce competitive works for the global market," said SLL Head of Production Park Jun Seo.
There are slight differences between the original version of 'Sky Castle' and the remake version. The original version focused on the intense battle for university entrance exams, while the Japanese version will center on the high school entrance exam process, reflecting the more challenging and parent-involving reality of high school admissions in Japan.
These differences will highlight the unique point of view that differentiates the Japanese version of 'Sky Castle' from the original. Meanwhile, the main cast for the Japanese version has been partially revealed. Matsushita Nao will play the role of Han Seo Jin (original version played by Yum Jung Ah).
He is known for his roles in popular dramas such as 'GEGEGE no Nyobo' and 'Get Ready!'. Next, Kimura Fumino plays the character Lee Soo Im (original version played by Lee Tae Ran). He has shown solid acting in various works such as '7 Secretaries' and 'Mother Game'.
Higa Manami will play No Seung Hye (original version played by Yoon Se Ah). He is known for his role in the drama 'The Detective and The Prosecutor'. Takahashi Maryjun will play Jin Jin Hee (original version played by Oh Na Ra). He previously played in the drama 'Oh My Boss! Love is a Separate Volume' and the film 'Stolen Identity'.
There is also Koyuki who will play Kim Joo Young (original version played by Kim Seo Hyung). He is known for his participation in dramas and films such as 'Kimi wa Petto', 'Boku to Kanojo to Kanojo no Ikiru Michi', and 'Always: Sunset on Third Street'.
Meanwhile, 'Sky Castle' is a drama that tells the desires and ambitions of 4 women who live in elite society. They aim to raise their husbands as kings and their children as the best princes and princesses in the 'Sky Castle' environment.
