The latest box office data shows that after a long run, the action comedy film Bad Boys: Ride or Die has officially entered the top 5 films at the US box office in 2024  Quoting from the Box Office Mojo page on Saturday July 6, 2024, the film Bad Boys: Ride or Die earned $170.8 million from its total screenings in 3,885 cinemas in the United States.

With this, Bad Boys: Ride or Die officially takes 5th place, replacing Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes . The difference in revenue between the two is indeed very small, but Ride or Die is predicted to continue to rake in money for the rest of its broadcast period. Therefore, the competition between the two films can be said to be over. Next, Ride or Die is aiming for the fourth position currently occupied by Kung Fu Panda 4.

To achieve that position, the film starring Will Smith must at least collect additional income of $ 24 million. Bad Boys : Ride or Die has grossed an estimated $335 million at the global box office so far, beating expectations and reinvigorating a previously sluggish summer movie season. With the success of the fourth film, the total revenue of the entire Bad Boys series has now surpassed $1 billion.

This is an extraordinary achievement, considering that many previously thought the franchise was starting to lose its appeal. Despite positive reviews from the public and critics for Bad Boys for Life , concerns remained when the fourth film was announced. This is not unusual for the final installment in an action franchise, given the number of disappointing films that often only serve commercial purposes.

However, early responses to Bad Boys: Ride or Die have proven that the franchise is still capable of surprising, with some critics even calling it one of the best four-film franchises of all time. In the film Bad Boys: Ride or Die , two Miami detectives, Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) try to investigate corruption in the police force after their deceased captain, Conrad Howard, is accused of involvement with a drug cartel.

However, they are suddenly framed and become fugitives, which forces them to operate outside the law in order to solve the case and clear their captain's name. The film also stars Vanessa Hudgens as Kelly, Alexander Ludwig as Dorn, Joe Pantoliano as Captain Conrad Howard, Paola Núñez as Captain Rita Secada, and John Salley as Fletcher. New cast members also include Eric Dane as Banker, Ioan Gruffudd as Lockwood, and Rhea Seehorn as US Marshal Agent.
