Jeon Somi's agency has confirmed that she will be making a comeback in August 2024. THEBLACKLABEL, the agency that houses the musician born in 2001, has just announced Jeon Somi's comeback schedule, which is planned to be held on August 2, 2024.

As reported by Soompi on Monday July 29, 2024, THEBLACKLABEL said that Jeon Somi will release a new song and music video on August 2, 2024 at 13.00 KST or 11.00 WIB. However, there is still no further information regarding the song title or the comeback promotion schedule from the singer of the song XOXO.

Jeon Somi's return to the music industry comes after the musician released an Extended Play (EP) titled GAME PLAN with the title track Fast Forward in August 2023. Her latest comeback came with the iconic deep house music genre combined with tectonic choreography. 

The song Fast Forward also successfully topped various domestic charts at that time. Jeon Somi is a musician with the full name Ennik Somi Douma. She is a singer of South Korean and Canadian descent who became famous through the Mnet survival show Produce 101.

Jeon Somi first debuted in the girl group IOI on May 4, 2016 by launching the mini album Chrysalis with the title song titled Dream Girls. After IOI officially disbanded on January 29, 2017, Jeon Somi decided to continue her music career under JYP Entertainment. She then joined the variety show, Sister's Slam Dunk, and re-debuted in the girl group in May 2017. 

On August 20, 2018, Jeon Somi terminated her contract with JYP Entertainment and was confirmed to have joined YG Entertainment's sub-label, THEBLACKLABEL, on September 23, 2018. After joining her new agency, Jeon Somi made her debut as a soloist on June 13, 2019 through a single album titled Birthday. 

In 2020, Jeon Somi successfully signed a collaboration contract with Interscope Records, a label under Universal Music Group, for her musical activities on the international scene.  Jeon Somi is further expanding her wings as a soloist by officially releasing her debut studio album entitled XOXO on October 29, 2021.
