Recently, one of South Korean idols, BLACKPINK's Jennie, experienced an incident that was said to violate the rules, namely smoking indoors. Earlier this week, an alleged staff member who claimed to be at the location of the 'JACQUEMUS' fashion show preparation spoke out to defend the K-Pop idol .

As reported by Allkpop on Thursday July 11, 2024, July 10, 2024 KST, a netizen who claimed to be present at the smoking incident wrote on an online community, "The location was the preparation place for the 'JACQUEMUS' fashion show, and the room was not designated as a non-smoking room. Permission to smoke was asked of everyone before vaping was carried out with the windows open.

" Despite the staff member’s defense, many Korean netizens still expressed their disapproval of Jennie’s actions. In particular, many noted that the netizen’s words lacked credibility, and others also noted that smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas in Italy. Some netizens left harsh comments because they were furious at their idol's behavior.

"All of her staff act like her servants. Don't they have any self-awareness?"  commented one netizen. "The only thing this netizen's defense does is give people an excuse to talk about Jennie's personality later," commented another netizen. "No matter the time and place, blowing smoke in someone's face is the lowest," commented another netizen.

"The actual staff who got smoked in the face stayed silent haha. She knows how to keep her job." commented another netizen sarcastically. "Smoking indoors should not be a matter of permission or consent.  It should be banned, period!" "I've been smoking for 20 years but I've never seen anyone blow smoke in another smoker's face so casually.

Apparently this person doesn't know anything about smoking etiquette."  And there were many more rude comments directed at one of the BLACKPINK members. Meanwhile, soon after the incident, Jennie's agency, ODD ATELIER, issued a statement apologizing for the idol's actions.
