NewJeans' Minji recently expressed her frustrations over the ongoing conflict between HYBE and Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of ADOR. On September 2, 2024, Minji shared a lengthy post on the fan communication platform Phoning. She wrote, “I couldn’t stand the heat and hoped summer would end soon, but now I’m restless as autumn approaches.
There have been so many things happening lately, and I wanted to share everything with you, but it’s already been about a week since I couldn’t.” She continued, “I wanted to comfort and thank the many Bunnies who came to support me, but I wasn’t confident this time.
I’m really sorry for having to go through this unnecessary trouble and for not being able to resolve anything despite having a whole day to discuss positive things.” Minji concluded with a hopeful note, saying, “I don’t know how long these anxious days will continue, but I hope we don’t have to endure too much hardship with the Bunnies.”
On August 27, 2024, ADOR dismissed former CEO Min Hee-jin through a board meeting and appointed Kim Joo-young as the new CEO. ADOR stated that former CEO Min will retain his position as an in-house director and continue producing for NewJeans, but Min Hee-jin protested, claiming the notification was unilateral and the contract unfair.
Meanwhile, director Shin Woo-seok, known for music videos like "Ditto" and "OMG," revealed that he had deleted all videos related to "NewJeans" at ADOR's request. In response, ADOR clarified that the request was only to remove videos posted without permission.
