SEVENTEEN's Woozi has spoken out after being accused of creating songs for his group using AI or artificial intelligence. The news began when an international news portal mentioned the possibility that SEVENTEEN was using AI for their music.
This also relates to Woozi's statement during the press conference that he is experimenting with AI to find out its strengths and weaknesses. He is trying to go hand in hand with AI technology but still maintain SEVENTEEN's musical identity.
When the news broke, Woozi uploaded a post on his Instagram Story. The short sentence was a statement that he as a producer did not use AI in creating SEVENTEEN's songs. “All of SEVENTEEN’s music is written and produced with human creators,” Woozi wrote in Korean and English.
Apart from Woozi, the agency that manages SEVENTEEN - PLEDIS Entertainment stated that they have never used AI for official matters. “It is not true that AI was used for SEVENTEEN’s song lyrics,” said a source from PLEDIS.
The agency also asked for improvements in the news portal's statement to avoid misinformation being provided to the public. Woozi is a member of SEVENTEEN who is the figure behind the group's songs and other musicians.
He produced several of SEVENTEEN's albums including their latest album, 17 is Right Here. Apart from that, Woozi also worked on songs for the units Jeonghan x Wonwoo, BSS, Tobi Lou, fromis_9, Bumzu, NUEST W, IOI, and others.
