Venom: The Last Dance is back at the top of the American box office after Here failed to bag impressive achievements in its opening weekend. The Hom Hanks film only managed to collect US$5 million. As reported by Variety on Sunday November 3, 2024, this figure is far behind Venom: The Last Dance, which is still perched at the top of the box office.

The final film in the Venom trilogy grossed $26.1 million in its second weekend of release. That's a 49 percent drop from its first weekend. However, the drop is better than other superhero films. On the other hand, Here's achievement knocked the film down to fifth place despite being out for less than a week.

In fact, the film is estimated to have cost around US$45 million to produce. Here's debut was recorded as being below other films that had previously been in theaters for several weeks, such as The Wild Robot which remained in second place with US$7.5 million.

Then, there is Smile 2 in third place with US$6.8 million, then Conclave with US$5.3 million after airing for two weeks. Meanwhile, cinemas are gearing up to welcome big holiday-themed films, such as Red One starring Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans, Gladiator II starring Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal, and Wicked starring Cynthia Ervo and Ariana Grande.

Then, there is also the sequel to the hit animated film Moana 2 which will also be showing in cinemas starting at the end of November 2024. Here was produced by director Robert Zemeckis, who is famous for his hit films, such as the Back to the Future trilogy, Death Becomes Her (1992), Forrest Gump (1994), and The Polar Express (2004).

Zemeckis also sat down as a screenwriter for Here with Eric Roth, the legendary Hollywood writer who has worked on Forrest Gump (1994), The Insider (1999), Munich (2005), A Star Is Born (2018), and Dune (2021). This film features Tom Hanks as the main actor, along with Robin Wright, Paul Bettany, and Kelly Reilly. Tom Hanks himself has previously collaborated with Zemeckis through the films Forrest Gump, Cast Away, and The Polar Express.
