According to SM Entertainment, the SNSD K-Pop group member is still in the discussion stage to play the character of a chef during the reign of an arbitrary king. On Monday December 2, 2024, Park Sung Hoon, who gained popularity through the Korean drama The Glory, was cast as Yoona's partner in the Korean drama The Tyrant's Chef.
The actor will transform into a king that Yoona meets while traveling back in time. "Park Sung Hoon received an offer to star in the new Korean drama The Tyrant's Chef and is positively reviewing the offer," BH Entertainment said in a statement, as reported by Soompi.
Adapted from a webtoon, the Korean drama The Tyrant's Chef follows the story of a chef who travels back in time to when he was at the peak of his career. There, he meets a king who is known as the worst leader, but is an expert in culinary arts.
The romantic drama will be directed by Jang Tae Yoo, who is behind the success of My Love from the Star, Knight Flower, and Lovers of the Red Sky. Park Sung Hoon and Yoona will soon start filming after all the casts are announced.
Korean drama The Tyrant's Chef is confirmed to air next year. Meanwhile, Park Sung Hoon joins as a new face in the sequel Squid Game 2 which will air on December 26, 2024 on Netflix. Yoona last starred in the Korean drama King the Land with 2PM's Junho last year.
