Actor Kim Sung Cheol apologized for a recent incident. He participated in a poll feature conducted by a vulgar account. The controversy began when an Instagram account was seen participating in a poll feature created by an account containing a deliberately slowed down performance of a female idol.
The account was deemed inappropriate and offensive to artists. Kim Sung Cheol was found to be one of the participants when his account name appeared in the participant list. Through his agency, the Tiramisu Cake singer apologized for his interaction.
"He (Kim Sung Cheol) realizes the wrongness of this action," said Story J Company, the agency that manages Kim Sung Cheol. Furthermore, the agency also denied that Kim Sung Cheol followed the account and only voted when the video appeared in the Home section.
"It is not true that he followed or consumed content from the account that appeared in the suggestion category. After realizing the account was controversial, he canceled the vote," he explained. "It seems like this issue has affected other artists and they feel guilty about it. We have apologized through their agency.
This incident was caused by carelessness and we will be more careful in our social media activities in the future to avoid the same mistake." the agency concluded. Apart from Kim Sung Cheol, actor Kim Min Seok has also been in controversy due to similar interactions but his agency has not yet issued a statement like Sung Cheol.
