Ju Ji Hoon was a guest star on tvN's "You Quiz on the Block" on March 12, 2025. On that occasion, the actor born in 1982 revealed the miserable fate he had to go through because he was born into a poor family. Ju Ji Hoon initially talked about the condition of the house he lived in when he was little.
"I didn't grow up in a rich environment. When I was little, I lived in a small room with one room near a dried seafood shop," he said. "The room was cramped, the insulation was bad, and we had to boil water over a charcoal fire just to wash," Ju Ji Hoon added.
Despite these hardships, the "Light Shop" star revealed some of his fondest memories. An example is the rainy days when his mother opens the sliding door and makes pancakes, filling their home with warmth and joy. Ju Ji Hoon also revealed how hard his father works.
"My father works in construction. Most people take vacations, but for our family, market days are our break time because my father has to work every time the sun rises," the actor from the drama "Blood Free" confided.
Even now, Ju Ji Hoon cherishes the sensation of swimming in the rain, a feeling that reminds him of his childhood. "I also spent a lot of time playing in the fields where my mother worked, which is why I have this tan," he shared.
In the program "You Quiz on the Block", Ju Ji Hoon also sent a touching video message to his parents. "Mom, Dad, I finally appeared on the national broadcast that you both love," said the handsome actor.
"Dad, I know you don't express it much, but I'm really worried about your bad legs, so please take care of your health. Mom, keep exercising as usual, and I hope my little sister Hye Ran succeeds in her pilates," he expressed his affection for his family.
Meanwhile, Ju Ji Hoon recently received a lot of praise for his acting as Baek Kang Hyuk in the Netflix drama "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call". His acting in the drama was even considered one of his best roles.
