Shocking news came from the group SEVENTEEN. One of its members, Wonwoo, was confirmed to be undergoing military duty starting next April 2025. On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, PLEDIS Entertainment announced that Wonwoo will be enlisting on April 3, 2025.

As a result, he will be unable to attend some of SEVENTEEN's upcoming schedules. “We would like to share the news that SEVENTEEN’s Wonwoo will be starting his military service starting April 3 this year.  Therefore, he will not be able to attend SEVENTEEN’s events after his service,” PLEDIS Entertainment said in a statement.

Some of the schedules in question are Tecate Pa'l Norte 2025 and a fan meeting in Japan next April 2025. “As previously announced, Wonwoo will participate in SEVENTEEN in CARAT LAND as scheduled from March 20 to 21, 2025 and appear in some pre-recorded content,” he said.

The agency also did not mention which division Wonwoo would be assigned to, but they reminded that there was no official send-off event on the day he left. "There will be no official events on the day of departure and we ask that you do not visit his alternate military base.

Send messages of support for Wonwoo through Weverse," the agency said. "We ask for your love and support for the artist until he returns. We are also committed to providing Wonwoo with everything he needs during this time," he continued.

Wonwoo officially became the second SEVENTEEN member to enlist in the military after Jeonghan in September 2024. Interestingly, Wonwoo and Jeonghan were previously combined as SEVENTEEN's newest sub-unit, Jeonghan x Wonwoo, which debuted with This Man last year.
