EXO's Kai has finally released his highly anticipated solo album, "Wait On Me". On April 21, 2025, the idol held a press conference to celebrate his comeback. Fellow EXO member Suho participated in the press conference as an MC.
At the press conference, Kai expressed his excitement and nervousness for his first comeback in a long time. "I hope fans can feel like they're on a date with me when watching the video ('Walls Don't Talk' MV)," he said. On that occasion, Suho mentioned Kai showing a lot of his body in his music video.
Kai replied, "With the desert background, (we thought) if I also wore a lot of clothes, it would be too hot for the audience, so there was an opinion that I showed some of his body." They then touched on Kai being known as a crop top icon. Kai admitted that he enjoys the nickname.
"I really enjoy it and people think of me that way. Doh Kyung Soo once said to me, 'Why do you lack so much material?'" Kai said. Kai continued to joke, “It made me think that I should show a side that is ‘not lacking in material’ next time, like wearing a quilted jacket.”
They then discussed possible future activities as EXO. Kai shared, "We are talking with the agency about what would be good for EXO. If there is an opportunity, EXO will appear here on stage (like this performance), so we will talk more with the company."
Kai also reminisced about his time working with elderly people with Alzheimer's while serving in the military. "I did my best because that's what I was supposed to do. I made a lot of memories with the elderly, and I learned a lot about Alzheimer's," he said.
Kai further shared, "I wanted to show diverse sides of myself as Kai and as Kim Jong In (Kai's real name). In the past, I only showed different dances and worked hard to dance on stage, but while preparing for this album, I looked at previous performances, and there really wasn't a concept I hadn't tried.
I think that experience and working hard are my strengths." Kai also expressed his excitement for his upcoming solo tour “KAION.” He commented, “I’m using this concert as an excuse to meet fans all over the world. Rather than fans waiting for me, I think I’m waiting to meet more fans.
Through this tour, it will be fun to compare who loves me more.” As a sneak peek of the tour, Kai hinted that he might perform a medley of EXO songs like the members did during their previous concert tours but with his own twist. Don't miss out on showing support for Kai.
