South Korean actor Gong Myoung returns to greet his fans through the latest drama titled Second Shot At Love. In this romantic comedy drama, Gong Myoung will play the main male character named Seo Ui Jun, a specialist doctor who returns to his hometown.

Second Shot At Love tells the story of Han Geum Ju (played by SNSD's Sooyoung), a woman who calls herself a 'reasonable drunkard'. She suddenly meets her first love, Seo Ui Jun, who turns out to hate alcohol. This unexpected meeting leads Geum Ju to decide to quit drinking in order to get closer to her ex-lover.

In this drama, Gong Myoung plays Seo Ui Jun, the head of the Bocheon Community Health Center. He is described as handsome, intelligent, and has a pleasant personality. Previously, he had a brilliant career as a specialist doctor at a renowned university hospital in Seoul, before finally deciding to return to his hometown.

Explaining his reasons for accepting the role, Gong Myoung admitted that he was very attracted to the combination of the production crew involved. "I was very enthusiastic about working with director Jang Yoo Jung and writer Myung Soo Hyun, but most importantly, the script was very fun," as quoted by Soompi on Thursday May 1,2025.

He also added, “I decided to take this role because I felt like I could show another side of myself through the character of Seo Ui Jun.” Gong Myoung describes Seo Ui Jun as a friendly figure with a charming humorous side. “He is friendly and a bit sly in an adorable way, a character who is loved and gets along well with the villagers.

On the surface, he looks cheerful and kind, but deep inside, he hides his own pain,” he explained. The actor, who was born on May 26, 1994, also revealed that the character Seo Ui Jun had a positive influence on his personal life. "I became much more sociable like Seo Ui Jun.

Thanks to that, I was able to enjoy the filming process while getting close to the other players," he said. To get into his role as a doctor, Gong Myoung admitted to thinking a lot about how to make his character look convincing. "I wanted to look neater than before, and because the character is a doctor, I wanted to give a trustworthy impression.

So, I adjusted my way of speaking and acting, and thought a lot about how to express myself to look reliable," he said again. Gong Myoung's career journey began in 2013 when he debuted through the web series After School: Lucky or Not. He is a member of the actor group 5urprise under the Fantagio agency.

He also appeared on the popular reality show We Got Married with actress Jung Hye-sung. In 2019, he starred in the action comedy Extreme Job which set a record of selling more than 10 million tickets in 15 days. This success earned him several nominations and awards for Best New Actor at various film award events.
