For you Stitch fans, get ready to be pampered with the live-action film Lilo & Stitch which will premiere on May 21, 2025 in all cinemas in Indonesia. It is said that critics call this film the best live-action Disney film to date.
The film received many positive reactions, with Daniel Baptista from The Movie Podcast calling the film the biggest surprise of the year. Indozone had the opportunity to attend the Lilo & Stitch gala premiere held at XXI Plaza Senayan on Monday May 19, 2025. The first reactions to the film were very positive.
There were many laughs and touching moments throughout the film. The film has a similar beat to the original released in 2002, but also adds something new. Both films tell the story of a lonely Hawaiian girl named Lilo, who discovers an adorable, blue and very mischievous alien named Stitch.
Together with her older sister, Nani, Lilo adopts Stitch and teaches him the meaning of family or "ohana". Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the film stars Maia Kealoha as Lilo Pelekai, with original Lilo & Stitch writer-director Chris Sanders returning to voice Stitch.
