Korean police have confirmed the blackmail case against footballer Son Heung Min. A woman in her 20s (called Yang) claims to have a child with Son Heung Min. She and a 40-year-old man (Yong) blackmailed Son Heung Min by asking for hush money.
According to DongA, the Seoul District Police have arrested Yang and Yong and questioned them. Ms. Yang reportedly received 300 million Won from Son Heung Min after claiming to be pregnant.
Meanwhile, Yong received 70 million from Son Heung Min after sending evidence of an ultrasound. The police confirmed that Yang was indeed pregnant and had an abortion. The police also confirmed the truth of Yang's ultrasound results, which Yong sent to Son Heung Min.
However, the police are still investigating whether the baby is really Son Heung Min's child. Previously, Son Heung Min through his agency denied Yang and Yong's claims. Son & Football Limited said Son Heung Min was the victim.
"We have filed a complaint with the police against the group that threatened him by spreading false information to extort money. We emphasize that Son Heung Min is clearly the victim in this case," Son Heung Min's agency said, as quoted by ChosunBiz.
