After almost three years of not appearing on the screen,  So Ji Sub  finally back with his new drama project. After last starring in Doctor Lawyer (2022), this time, the actor will greet fans with a Korean action drama titled Mercy for None.

While waiting for the broadcast, let's take a look at So Ji Sub's character portrait in Mercy for None! Combining the action and noir genres , Mercy for None is a Netflix original series adapted from the popular webtoon titled Gwangjang.

Through this Korean drama, So Ji Sub plays the character of a former gangster named Nam Gi Jun. In order to prove his seriousness in getting out of the criminal world, he even took an extreme way by cutting his own left Achilles tendon.

After 11 years of severing ties with his gangster group, Gi Jun returns to the criminal underworld to uncover the truth behind the mysterious death of his younger brother, Nam Gi Seok (Lee Joon Hyuk), who was also a gang member.

In several still cuts released, Gi Jun appears determined to avenge himself. He continues to engage in brutal fights until he is covered in blood, but still does not give up.

To attack the enemy in front of him, Gi Jun grips a baseball bat as his main weapon. Every swing of the bat depicts his anger and hatred. In fact, the tension in this drama is increasingly felt with the cruel action scenes carried out by Gi Jun.

In addition to being So Ji Sub's comeback on the small screen, Mercy for None also marks So Ji Sub's return to the action noir genre for the first time in 13 years since he was involved in the film A Company Man (2012).

Suddenly, fans are getting more and more impatient with So Ji Sub's appearance and charm in the Netflix drama that will officially air on Friday June 6, 2025.
