Kim Kardashian is once again being mocked on social media. This time, an old photo of her teenage years on Instagram is the trigger. In the post, the reality star shared a portrait of herself when she was around 13 years old, smiling while holding a nail brush.
The photo was captioned "1993 Linds," which is believed to be a reference to her childhood friend, Lindsay May, who died of cancer in early 2025. Instead of just getting praise, the upload actually sparked a heated debate in the comments column.
A number of netizens regretted the drastic changes in Kim's face, which was considered very different from her appearance as a teenager. Many suspected that Kim had undergone a number of plastic surgery procedures or other aesthetic treatments.
"Wow... I just realized how much has changed," one user wrote. "Still pretty, but wow!" "Prettier with her natural face," another netizen commented. Not a few also threw out sharp criticism. "Natural beauty. No need to do anything," wrote one netizen.
"I really don't understand why the Kardashians got surgery. Even though they are naturally beautiful," wrote another. Someone even said, "Kim ruined her own face. She used to be naturally beautiful... now the whole family is unrecognizable."
This post is not the first to draw similar reactions. In December 2024, Kim also shared an old photo from a photo booth in the 1990s. At that time, the public expressed similar comments about her transformation.
The Kardashian-Jenner family has long been associated with plastic surgery and cosmetic treatments. Although they only admit to a few of them, such as Botox, fillers, and breast implants, netizens and a number of aesthetic surgeons consider their changes to be much more significant.
Kylie Jenner has admitted to having breast augmentation and lip fillers. Khloe Kardashian has admitted to having a nose job and injections. Kourtney has said she has had breast implants and non-surgical contouring and facelift treatments.
Kendall Jenner, meanwhile, insists she has never changed her face. Despite public criticism and speculation, the family doesn't seem to be changing their approach to appearance. Kim herself said in a 2022 interview with Allure that she "really cares about her appearance."
