Seo Hyun Jin's agency, Management Soop, responded to the news that the actress was a victim of a house rental fraud. On Monday June 2, 2025, the agency stated, “Because this concerns personal life, we are having difficulty confirming.”
Earlier that day, a media outlet reported that South Korean actress and singer Seo Hyun Jin had not received back the deposit for the house she rented, so she filed an auction request last April 2025.
According to information from the Korean Court Auction System, Seo Hyun Jin signed a lease contract in April 2020 with a deposit of 2.5 billion won and registered the rental rights of the house.
Then, in 2022, she renewed the contract with a deposit value that increased to 2.625 billion won. However, until the contract period ended in April 2024, the homeowner reportedly did not return the deposit.
NewsPirit media reported that the property was included in the “canned house rental” category, where the appraisal value of the house was around 2.873 billion won. The property has failed to be auctioned once, so the minimum auction price has now dropped to 2.2989 billion won.
According to industry insiders, in order to return Seo Hyun Jin's deposit, the property must be sold for more than 2.6 billion won. However, the possibility of this happening is considered small, so it will likely be difficult for the actress to avoid losses.
