South Korean actor Ha Jung Woo has issued an apology after his comments on social media sparked controversy. The comments concerned a nickname he gave a fan, which some netizens deemed inappropriate.

On Monday July 21, 2025, Ha Jung Woo's agency, Workhouse Company, released an official statement that read, "We would like to express our sincere apologies to those who felt uncomfortable by our artist's actions on social media."

The agency also stated that Ha Jung Woo has personally contacted the fan in question to apologize and discuss the incident. "We promise to be more careful in communicating with fans in the future to prevent similar incidents," the agency added.

The controversy began on July 20, 2025, when a post on various online communities highlighted Ha Jung Woo's comments on Instagram. In the post, a fan surnamed Choi asked the actor for a nickname. Ha Jung Woo then wrote "최음제" (aphrodisiac in Indonesian), sparking a variety of reactions.

Although the fan responded with laughter and a "I love you" comment, some netizens deemed the comment inappropriate and even offensive, leading to accusations of sexual harassment. Following the controversy, Ha Jung Woo deleted his comment.
