The latest news from the world of K-pop. Yugyeom of the South Korean boy group GOT7 will begin his mandatory military service on September 29, 2025. This was confirmed by his agency, on August 23, 2025.
In their official announcement, AOMG stated that Yugyeom has been accepted as a "specialist soldier" and will serve in the army band after undergoing basic military training.
The agency asked fans not to come to the registration location to avoid crowds, as the ceremony is private and attended by many other soldiers and their families.
AOMG also added that there will be no separate fan events on Yugyeom's enlistment day. The agency expressed its gratitude for the love and support given to Yugyeom by fans and promised to continue supporting him throughout his service.
In his role as a "specialist soldier" in the military band, Yugyeom will continue his musical talents while on national duty. Fans are expected to provide him with warm support until his safe return.
