Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic drew public attention after performing an unusual celebration. He danced to the song "Soda Pop," the soundtrack for the K-pop film "Demon Hunters," which went viral internationally.

The celebratory moment came after Novak Djokovic defeated American Taylor Fritz to advance to the US Open semifinals. He completed a nearly three-hour match at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York on Tuesday (September 2, 2025).

However, what captured the public's attention wasn't just his victory, but also Novak Djokovic's hand movements and dancing on the court. These movements were part of the Soda Pop choreography, performed by the fictional boy group Saja Boys in the K-Pop drama Demon Hunters.

In a post-match interview, Novak Djokovic revealed that the dance was intended as a surprise for his daughter, Tara, on her eighth birthday. "Well, it's 20 minutes to midnight here on September 2, 2025.

It's my daughter's birthday, so this is a great gift for her," Novak Djokovic said, making a heart sign. Novak Djokovic admitted that he learned the choreography for his song "Soda Pop" directly from his daughter, Tara, who is a huge fan of the K-pop film "Demon Hunters."

He even proudly stated that his daughter would probably judge whether his moves were good enough or not. "She'll probably judge my performance tomorrow. Because she taught me how to dance it. It's from the K-pop movie Demon Hunters.

The song's title is Soda Pop," he explained during the press conference. Furthermore, Novak Djokovic said he was unaware of the K-pop film Demon Hunters before Tara introduced him to it a few months ago. The father and son ended up dancing together frequently at home.

"Obviously, it's a global phenomenon for teenagers and kids, but I didn't know about it until my daughter told me a few months ago, so we've been doing a lot of choreography at home and this is one of them," he said. "So hopefully I can make him smile when he wakes up tomorrow morning," the father added excitedly.

Novak Djokovic's wife, Jelena Djokovic, also expressed her support and celebrated her husband's moment in an Instagram Story post. "Awwwww My little soda pop!!! Let's go hahaha," she exclaimed in Croatian.

Meanwhile, the K-pop film Demon Hunters has captured attention since its premiere on Netflix on Friday (June 20, 2025). In a short time, the film immediately topped Netflix's Global Top 10 Movies list. The songs used in the animated film's soundtrack also topped the Billboard charts.
