Another potential actor for the live-action Solo Leveling has been revealed: Ha Jung Woo. He was offered the role of the villain in this Netflix original series. Unfortunately, the management is reluctant to comment further.
News of Ha Jung Woo's casting for Solo Leveling was first reported by SPOTV News. Reported on Thursday (September 24, 2026), the local South Korean media outlet stated that the 48-year-old actor will make a special appearance in the project, which will be played by Byeon Woo Seok.
WALKHOUSECOMPANY management provided clarification. They issued a short statement. "There is no certainty yet," they said. But if true, Ha Jung Woo will play Hwang Dong Soo. In the original Solo Leveling story, this character is an S-rank Hunter and one of the main villains Sung Jinwoo will face.
A strong reason Ha Jung Woo might be joining the project is his relationship with directors Lee Hae Jun and Kim Byung Seo. They collaborated on the 2019 film Ashfall. Ha Jung Woo is one of the names currently on the list of potential cast members for the live-action Solo Leveling.
Earlier this week, actress Choi Myeong Been was reportedly tapped to play Sung Jinah, Sung Jinwoo's younger sister. Byeon Woo Seok is the only name confirmed for the role so far. He will play Sung Jinwoo. Han So Hee is reportedly being cast to play Cha Hae In.
However, official confirmation of her involvement has not been released, although fans have already seen some intriguing details, including Han So Hee's hair color, which is now very Cha Hae In. Actor Kang You Seok was also cast to play Yoo Jinho.
Meanwhile, Lee Hong Nae, who previously appeared in The Legend of Kitchen Soldier, was offered the role of Kang Tae Sik. Several other names that have not been confirmed, but are rumored to be involved in the Solo Leveling project include Kang Mina, Rain, Lee Sung Min, Sung Joon, and Kim Si Ah.
