Actor Hong Jong-hyun has been attracting attention with his active acting career this fall. He made a surprise appearance on the small screen with a special guest role in the first episode of the drama "Dive to You," which premiered on the 26th.

As reported by Naver on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, in the drama, he appeared as an awards show host, filling in for one scene of the event. In particular, Hong Jong-hyun displayed a calm demeanor and handsome visuals on the awards stage.

He blended naturally into the atmosphere as he shared the moment Yoon Ha-na, played by Kim Ji-yeon, won the Best Actress award. He drew attention for his stable acting despite his brief appearance.

After returning to the small screen, Hong Jong-hyun is embarking on a new challenge on stage. He will be performing on stage for the first time since his debut through the drama "Closer," which was released on the 15th.

Set in 1990s London, Closer follows the encounters of four men and women—Larry, Anna, Dan, and Alice—who become entangled in each other's lives. Hong Jong-hyun plays Dan, who is torn between Alice and Anna.

Hong Jong-hyun previously revealed, “I have long wanted to take on the challenge of theater and I joined Closer with the desire to work with great actors.”

As this is her first theatrical venture, attention is focused on the new side she will showcase on stage. She engages with the audience by carefully conveying the character's emotional changes while also demonstrating her presence on stage.

In this way, Hong Jong-hyun continues his new acting journey this fall, adding excitement through special appearances in dramas and taking on his first stage role since his debut.

Following his brief appearance in "Dive to You," Hong Jong-hyun's journey of showing a new side on stage in "Close" is drawing attention. Meanwhile, the drama Closer, starring Hong Jong-hyun, will be staged at Yes24 Stage 2 in Jongno-gu, Seoul, until December 6, 2026.
