HMD Global introduced a new rugged smartphone in the Indian market, called Nokia XR20. It comes with a Military Grade design, IP68 rating, and MIL-STD810H certification which means it can survive in extreme conditions. It is a 5G capable smartphone that features are Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 chipset, 48MP dual cameras with Zeiss optics, and a 4,630mAh battery.
The Nokia XR20 is a rugged smartphone that comes with both IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and MIL-STD810H certified. The handset features a 6.67-inch display with full-HD+ resolution (1080 x 2400 pixels). The display has a 20:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. Under the hood, it is equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 SoC along with Adreno 619 GPU. It is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
The Nokia XR20 uses a dual-rear camera module that houses a 48MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. For selfies and video calling, the smartphone offers an 8MP camera under the waterdrop notch that has an f/2.0 aperture. The XR20 uses Zeiss optics for its camera. The device comes with OZO spatial audio recording along with wind noise cancellation.
In terms of connectivity, the Nokia XR20 features 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS, NavIC, NFC, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The fingerprint sensor is included in the side penal with a power key button. It packs a 4,630mAh battery that supports 18w fast charging technology. In terms of dimensions, it measures 171.64 x 81.5 x 10.64mm and weighs 248 grams.
The HMD Global claims that it can survive in extreme temperatures ranging from 50-degree Celsius to 20-degree Celsius. The HMD promises that Nokia XR20 will receive four years of monthly security updates and up to three years of major OS updates. The Nokia XR20 is also offering Nokia Power Earbuds Lite worth Rs. 3,500 and one year of screen protection plan for free to those customers who will pre-order the phone.
As for the pricing and availability, the Nokia XR20 will be available in India, carries a price tag of Rs. 46,999 for the single 6GB/128GB storage model. The smartphone will be available for pre-orders starting October 20, while the sale will start on October 30. It comes in two color options, i.e. Granite and Ultra Blue.
