The Chinese smartphone maker, Realme has launched Realme 8 5G in Indian market on Thursday. The key highlights of this smartphone are a 90Hz display, a 48MP triple rear camera setup, and a 5,000mAh battery. The handset comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC which is the first device to come with the chipset in India.

The Realme 8 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC paired with ARM Mali G57 MC2 GPU. The dual-SIM supporting device runs on Android 11 with Realme 2.0 skin on the top. The screen quality and size both are impressive as an affordable phone, the smartphone comes with a 6.5-inch full-HD+ Dragontrail glass display that carries a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It brings a 90Hz refresh rate and a 20:9 aspect ratio. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Realme 8 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging technology. The smartphone will be available in two memory variants, i.e. 4GB RAM with 128GB internal Storage and 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage. However, you can expand its storage capacity through a microSD card (up to 1TB). In terms of dimensions, the handset measures 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.5mm and weighs 185 grams.

The Realme 8 5G sports a triple camera setup on the back that includes a 48MP Samsung GM1 primary sensor with an F1.8 lens, a 2MP monochrome sensor with an F2.4 portrait lens, and a 2MP macro sensor with an F2.4 lens. On the front camera, Realme has provided a 16MP camera with an F2.1 lens. Other features include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, USB Type-C port, and more. The device has both 5G and 4G LTE network connectivity.

As for the pricing and availability, the 4GB RAM with 128GB storage variants comes at Rs. 14,999. The Realme 8 5G also has an 8GB RAM with 128GB storage variant which has been priced at Rs. 16,999. The sale will start in India from April 28, 12 pm (noon) through Flipkart, Realme.com, and offline store.
