ASUS has confirmed that its gaming-focused ROG 5s series will be introduced in India on February 15. The line-up includes the vanilla ROG 5s and ROG 5s Pro. The gaming devices made their global debut back in August 2021. As for the key highlights, they feature a Snapdragon 888+ 5G chip, a 144Hz AMOLED display, and a 6,000mAh battery.

Many consider ASUS the 'top-dog' in the highly competitive gaming smartphone niche. It is a title the company has held for many years with its ROG Phone series. The ROG 5s and 5s Pro are no exceptions. The 5s Pro has a ROG Vision matrix display on the rear panel, making it stand out from the vanilla 5s and other contemporaries.

The ASUS ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro comes with a 6.78-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2448 pixels) E4 AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The smartphones sport a conventional rectangular screen with noticeable top and bottom bezels and an in-display fingerprint sensor. On the rear, they have a horizontal camera unit.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the ASUS ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro flaunt a triple rear camera arrangement, including a 64MP (f/1.8) main shooter, a 13MP (f/2.4) ultra-wide sensor, and a 5MP (f/2.0) macro lens. Up front, they sport a 24MP (f/2.5) snapper for selfies and video calls. The smartphones house a 6,000mAh battery with 65W fast-charging support.

Under the hood, the ASUS ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro draw power from an octa-core Snapdragon 888+ 5G chipset, coupled with up to 18GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. On the front software, the duo boot Android 11-based ROG UI out of the box. For connectivity, they offer support for 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, and a Type-C port.

The official pricing and availability details of the ASUS ROG 5s series in India will be announced by the Taiwanese tech company at the time of its launch on February 15. For reference, the series starts at €999 (around Rs. 85,700) in Europe. The smartphones come in Phantom Black, and Storm White color options.
