ZTE sub-brand, Nubia has launched its all-new RedMagic 7 series of gaming smartphones in China on February 17. The line-up starts at CNY 3,899 (roughly Rs. 46,200) and includes 7 and 7 Pro models, which are offered in Night Knight, Cyber Neon, and Transparent Edition options. The flagship handsets come with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, up to 135W fast-charging support, and up to 165Hz screen refresh rate.
The Nubia RedMagic 7 and 7 Pro are packed with cutting-edge technology and raise the bar for other flagship smartphones that want to attract mobile gaming aficionados. In fact, the handsets can even put some premium laptops to shame with the kind of hardware they offer: up to 18GB RAM, up to 1TB storage, an RGB cooling fan, a dedicated chip for gaming, and more.
The Nubia RedMagic 7 series bear a 6.8-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) OLED screen with up to 165Hz refresh rate and up to 960Hz touch sampling rate. They also have more responsive shoulder gaming triggers. The Nubia RedMagic 7 features a conventional rectangular design with noticeable bezels and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The Pro version flaunts a futuristic all-screen look thanks to its under-display front camera.
Under the hood, the Nubia RedMagic 7 series is fueled by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, paired with up to 18GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. In terms of battery, the vanilla model packs a 4,500mAh battery with 120W fast-charging, while the Pro model houses a 5,000mAh battery with 135W fast-charging support.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the Nubia RedMagic 7 series flaunts a triple rear camera arrangement, comprising a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro shooter. For selfies and video calls, the Pro model sports a 16MP in-screen selfie camera. The smartphones boot Android 12 OS out of the box and offer support for Wi-Fi 6 as well as Bluetooth 5.2.
For pricing and availability in China, the Nubia RedMagic 7 starts at CNY 3,899 (roughly Rs. 46,000) for the 8GB/128GB variant and goes up to CNY 5,499 (roughly Rs. 65,000) for the 12GB/512GB model. The RedMagic 7 Pro starts at a price of CNY 4,799 (roughly Rs. 57,000) for the 12GB/128GB model and goes up to CNY 7,499 (roughly Rs. 89,000) for the top-tier 18GB/1TB configuration.
